Old Barn Found Wandering in Simcoe County

by Laura Brown, OBP Member and Volunteer

Of course, it wasn’t the barn wandering around Simcoe County, it was my Mom and I. I think I remember the street this was on but I’d rather not post it anyway. Most of the barn is still intact and though its not very actively in use, someone owns and does use it now and then.

I took photos from outside the barn, walking most of the way around it. I found a bird’s egg in the grass, photographed wildflowers (they are not weeds), at least one interesting looking bug, a fence along the side of the barn, and the barn itself. I also photographed a close up of a section of barn wood and the metal, rusty roof.

That iron/ metal of some kind fence was the most interesting thing I thought. I haven’t noticed one like it before. It probably has a name, but I don’t know it. Please leave a comment if you know it.
